2.8 Networking Report

You will need to write a report on a networking related topic this semester. The report is required, it must be done with a word processor, and it must be proof read by the writing lab.

The topic you choose should be of interest to you. There are many possible topics. Some possible topics:

• Frame Relay
• Wireless networking (802.11)
• SONET (Synchronous Optical Network)
• Cluster networking (Myricom's Myrinet &
• InfiniBand)
• 1 and 10 GigaBit/sec Ethernet
• DSL extensions
• FDDI
• IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6)
• ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode)
• Advances in Fiber Optic communications

The report needs to include:  

• A cover sheet with the following:
  • your name
  • topic
  • Louis Taber CIS119
  • date
• Bibliography citing your references.
