2.4 Lab Resources
The classroom is set up with 22 computer systems for student use and two
system for the instructor. Each student system has:
- One 1Ghz AMD Athlon processor
- 3COM 3C905C 10 or 100 Mbit/sec network card
(Pima network)
- SMC-1211TX 10 or 100 Mbit/sec network card
(Classroom internal)
- 256 Mbytes RAM
- Bootable IDE 20 Gbyte removable hard drive.
- Bootable IDE CD-ROM drive
- ATI Xpert98 Rage-XL video card with 8 Mbytes
- Monitor with 1280x1024@66Hz display with Horizontal rate 30-70K Hertz
and a Vertical rate range of 50 to 90 Hertz
A group of systems will be assigned to each group for the duration of the
semester. If a hard drive is corrupted, it will be the groups
responsibility to get the system re-built.
The classroom has a 100Mbit/sec switch. The classroom
network is connected to the Internet.
