How do manufactures choose to build a specific type of computer?
Market analysis. What can sell.
Program analysis. What do current programs do.
Measurment of current machines. Analysis of number of times each instruction is executed.
Instruction sequence analysis. What instructions follow one another.
What can be done to increase instruction execution speed?

Competitor migration. What customers can be moved from other systems.
Growth potential. What are the limitations to this design.
What is the maximum amout of memory that can be addresses.
