2.5 Lab Resources
The classroom is set up with 22 computer systems for student use and two
system for the instructor. Each student system has:
- One 266Mhz AMD K6 processor
- 3COM 3C909B 10 or 100 Mbit/sec network card
- 64 Mbytes RAM
- Bootable IDE 4.3 Gbyte removable hard drive. /dev/hda
- Bootable IDE 32x CD-ROM drive /dev/hdc
- S3 video card with 4 Mbytes
- Monitor with 1280x1024 display with Horizontal rate 30-70K Hertz
and a Vertical rate range of 47 to 104 Hertz
- Microsoft Serial Mouse ver 2.1 on /dev/ttyS0
- IP information.
- IP name: r5j-xx.cscwc.pima.edu where xx is 01 through 22.
- IP address: 144.90.66.70+system number. 144.90.66.71 through
144.90.66.93.
- Network address: 144.90.66.64
- Subnetmask: 255.255.255.192
- Gateway: 144.90.66.65
- Broadcast address: 144.90.66.127
A group of systems will be assigned to each group for the duration of the
semester. If a hard drive is corrupted, it will be the groups
responsibility to get the system re-built.
The classroom has a 24 port 100Mbit/sec 3Com switch. The classroom
network is connected to the Internet.
