Home Appalachian Trail - 2012 index

This trail section included the Kennebec River and its ferry. This required a very specific time table. The ferry across the Kennebec River during this period was only runing 2 hours per day, from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. If you missed the ferry, it was safest to camp and wait till the next day. This section worked out well according to my plans. The first day was 15.9 miles to the Pierce Pond Lean-to. The next day was a short 3.6 miles hike to the Kennebec River ferry crossing.
